Earlier, the need for counselling, guidance & self-help was not on the top list of our necessities. It wasn’t really encouraging enough for people who actually succumbed to any disorder. Everyone was asked to deal with it and move on. Or we’re been told “It’s the way of life”; “change is constant, learn to adapt”; etc.

People failed to understand the importance of mental health. In fact, people didn’t think there was a necessity to assess mental health till the previous year… as the pandemic hit worldwide, people panicked, and there was havoc all over the place. The number of deaths and people struggling has brought down the whole world as well as the economy. Although, the economy can improve up only when people are hail and healthy physically and mentally.

There was now a lot to deal with now! The pandemic was not planned to be a part of life’s despairs, was it?

Studies show, the need for counsellors, psychologists have drastically risen. All over social media, there are hundreds and thousands of handles just for mental health services showing that they are always there to help them.
Many people are disturbed by the huge losses in their family. They end up in stress, anxiety, frustration, loneliness, depression, etc kind of disorders and no one to help them. Below are the statistics by where #mentalhealth is in the 4th position.

We all know to advise others when they are down, unless the same incident occurs in our lives, we don’t know how to react or console ourselves in that situation. The thoughts that we get is what we are. What we want to think and what we do not want to think, we have a say on it. Let’s not allow our minds to take control of us, we have to control our minds.

We have to become the master of our minds. That’s when we are actually Masterminds!

The pandemic is an example to show how much our mental health is important and how well we should take care of it. Prioritising our mental health keeps our physical health also hail.

  1. Never think to approach/visit a counsellor. Your problem could be very small, silly, minute. You’re never judged based on your issues.
  2. Always support each other at all times. And mean it!
  3. Never hesitate to put yourself first especially to take care of yourself.
  4. Love yourself! as always said it’s only you for you.
  5. Never feel ashamed or embarrassed to talk out.

Remember, what thoughts are in us, shapes our perspective, our likes and dislikes, our behaviour & finally our character. So, if you allow your thoughts to be dominant over your life, you may never be peaceful. Take control over your thoughts and respond in the most likely manner which will help you.

This pandemic has gotten many close to each other and has many separated. Let’s come together as one, and fight not just the virus attacking our physical body, but fight the viruses in our minds as well. Let’s make every day positive, fresh, and brighter.
